BA-572 (Production)
Pitch Presentation
BA-572 was a project being developed at the beginning of 2020. I was co-producer of this short film and the group worked together to try and finish it however, due to the start of the covid-19 situation we were unable to film and finish it. However, we were still able to get a lot out of experience out of the pre-production of this project.
This page lays out all our production work for BA-572.
The project was conceptualized as a series of tv broadcasts viewed from a not too distant future that would depict the fall of man due to negligence of a clearly high-risk issue. It would showcase two characters with opposing political views and depict how both would look at the situation from different perspectives and both still ignore the problem until it was too late. The film would also contain "shot on location" scenes with interviews and other slightly different sections. Overall the story aimed to allude in a subtle way to the consequences of Global Warming and how many people might acknowledge it and still not help to solve he problem.
Test Footage
As co-producer, my co-worker and I spent a lot of time organizing and developing documents in the Pre-Production stages so that the Production would be carried out as smoothly as possible.
We worked on Location Scoutings and organized castings so that the main elements of our Short Film would be sorted as fast as possible.
We delegated other work such as the finding or certain essential props, a shot list for aid during shooting, and a music reference for a smoother Post-Production.
We were also able to carry out a test shooting, in order to get an idea of the procedures of the shoot before the date and to allow the editor some test footage to experiment with, specially when it came to the greenscreen masking.
Lastly, we also developed documents such as an outlined Production and Shooting schedule, a Crew contact list, equipment list, prepared filming notices, and went over proper health and safety regulations so that the filming would be carried without any hiccups and at a decent pace.
Despite unfortunately not being able to carry shootings due to the covid-19 and therefore never finishing this project, I believe this experience was essential in the learning of how to properly plan and delegate tasks for a safe and propper short film project.
